AI e-commerce product
In effort to find new revenue streams Salsita looked into transforming partly into product company leveraging their tech and experience with 3D configurators into product. I was there to shape the team and help team that consisted of more junior designers to find correct path
The current way was bleeding money on every project and everything was custom. I championed creation of Design system and simple design patterns that allows quick way to design variety of configurators by imposing restrictions and standardised elements. As of now implementations using this system are finally in the green.
Second mission was discovery and validation of possible productazation of conversational AI both in configuration of products as well as product search. This initiative is underway currently so I cannot write too much about here but ask me about it!
BMW IDrive 8
I was part of the production team for BMW's latest system for their digital car experience. I was involved in the creation of a large design system supporting the system and designing screens for several features following established concepts and principles
The entire experience spans several different devices/screens with very different interactions and formats: Infotainment, cluster, side panel displays, and a large rear seat screen.
Due to this, there was an extreme focus on consistency of the experience.
Financial aid for war refugees app
As Czechia is close to Ukraine, after the war started, we received a large number of war refugees. To assist them, the government offered financial aid to those in need. We were tasked with developing a mobile app for this purpose, allowing users to submit applications, monitor their status, and receive payments.
There were two main challenges: the rollout was scheduled for only a month later, and determining user identity was crucial.
I was the sole designer on this project. I took it from the discovery phase of gathering the information required by the government to designing the user flows and all interaction designs.
The initial release was successful, but we discovered that a significant percentage of applications were still being denied. To address this issue, I needed to learn more. I arranged live tests at refugee centers, where I questioned them about their documentation and observed their application usage.
We identified several problems, including a lack of understanding of certain requirements, variations in name formatting, and the need to find alternative methods for user identification. The design was iterated based on these findings.
Automotive explorations
I have worked on variety explorations on both UX and visual side. From making early visual moodboards, to in depth competitive and trend analysis to concept vision proposals. For brands like Škoda, Izera or Mahindra.
HR solution product
At OKSystem, in addition to software for government, we also had our long-term product designed to help companies manage their employees in one place. It consists of several modules including attendance, employee information, contracts, an intranet solution, and wages.
I was primarily responsible for attendance and the intranet solution, and I also took part in product discovery. I reworked the features based on the new visual identity, as well as aligned patterns between modules and validated new designs. Additionally, I worked with current customers to discover their needs for new features.
The team consisted of four designers.
Outdoor advertisement management system
BigBoard is the largest outdoor advertisement provider in the Czech Republic. They approached us to create the "ultimate" solution to meet all their needs. This would include managing advertisement locations, customer relations, payment statuses, delivery and installation of adverts, as well as monitoring active and future rents.
The project was complicated by the fact that BigBoard consists of multiple companies, each with its own tool, each having different patterns and features.
As part of a four-designer strong team, I was tasked with discovery and working with team leads from each company to map out the requirements. I organized workshops, conducted interviews, observed usage, and analyzed existing tools, ensuring everyone's satisfaction. This was quite an undertaking, considering some of the "strong" characters I was working with.
Later, I worked on several things such as a timeline that allowed for rent planning, a tablet version for technicians who install the billboards, and explored workflow efficiency improvements by creating several features and patterns to support that.
